Back in October of 2014, ONE Championship's Amir Aliakbari was a world champion Greco-Roman wrestler making the transition to MMA. He began training at AKA Thailand under coach Mike Swick, and was a frequent grappling and sparring partner of Soa "The Hulk" Palelei during Soa's fight camp for UFC Fight Night 33 vs Pat Barry.
